I did not see a connection between the solar panels and the batteries or was the circuit breaker that was installed to the right of the batteries fed fro the solar
Each AC Battery has an AC connection only back to the switchboard of the residence. You can see the AC circuit breaker on the right hand side. So its AC coupled to the solar and property.
Where does the other side of the circuit breaker go , ( not the battery side) , can you show a circuit diagram?
There is a an AC Battery circuit breaker located in the Main Switch Board which is supplying the circuit breaker you can see in the video. You may find the following link useful
How many batteries would I require for an existing Enphase 3.15 kW system that already has micro-inverters?
This depends on the energy usage of the system's household. If you already have an Envoy-S Metered, your installer can easily size your battery requirements based on your consumption & generation information so that you don't get any more or any less storage than you need. As a rough guide - each battery is 1.2kW so you will only probably need one or two batteries for now, depending how much of your 3.15kWs you use.

It is a great idea - some installers may already be offering a trade in program, however we strongly believe the Envoy-S Metered offers more than enough value to justify the small investment. As the manufacturer we can't quote on behalf of our retail partners, but we are seeing quotes around the $2000 - $2500 fully installed. We expect this price would get better the more you install, naturally.

What are the battery costs + installation. So far The indications are that Envoy S + batteries ie 4 off works out at around $14000 this is one hell of a lot of electricity at 17.35 c/kWh. 4 batteries would be just enough to cover 2-3 days of no sun for a couple of retired people with solar hot water use. Recovery costs work out at 19 year time frame not a good investment.
The Enphase Storage System is for daily load-shifting, meaning they are designed to store solar power and off-peak grid power for use during peak tariff times. If you require back-up battery power, or you would like a battery that powers your whole house and allows you to disconnect from the grid, that is a totally different investment and you will need a very large battery capacity. For some homes in rural areas, being off-grid is cheaper than paying a huge grid connection fee, making the investment worthwhile. But for the vast majority of Australians, the greatest payback lies in simply utilising 100% of your solar (called self consumption) and minimising your grid power consumption. This is what our solution offers. As soon as you start trying to cater for every possible weather event or circumstance, your up-front investment becomes much higher. Best to cater for the benefits available to you in every day (or most days) circumstances. Of course, the payback varies greatly depending on your night time power consumption (which is essentially your available savings to be had), your power rates, the amount of excess solar you are generating and are therefore able to offset, etc. Your installer can help you diagnose your situation.

Thank you for your prompt reply. Your remarks regarding battery storage have explained better the requirements of the battery system and why you supply batteries of only 1.2 kWh against compedtitors 7 kWh systems. We will approach the solar system suppliers for a quote re the Envoy S. So far we are very happy indeed with the 20 ENPHASE microinverters and the computer display of information using the older version of the Envoy. The 20 panels were installed October last year and so far the Envoy shows 6,63mWh. We highly regard your products. Again thank you.
Actually even a 7kW battery won't be nearly enough to run your house for 3 days as you mentioned earlier. Also, the reason behind our smaller capacity is for the many benefits of small, incremental modularity. One being the ability to customise/right-size your battery capacity to your actual requirements. Batteries aren't cheap so you definitely don't want to buy more capacity than you need!
Great to hear you will be upgrading to Envoy-S Metered - just wait until you have all that new information to look at! Who would have thought energy could be.. exciting?!

The below figures and estimates are way out of calculation with due respects firstly
EnvoyS metered and 4 batteries is well under $10,000 for a start and this is aimed at discharge Peak times which in NSW are around the 53-55c/kWh, this is up to 10 x what your export credits are from the electricity providers, a no brainer really.
I the simplicity of installation & the Right price made this storage sys a winner
This tells me everything EXCEPT THE PRICE,please give all up price on putting battery on 3 kw system
